Mountain Warehouse expands at Caledonia Park amid 'strong' year for outlet village

Mountain Warehouse has unveiled its newly expanded store at Caledonia Park, coinciding with an 11% year-to-date increase in sales at the Scottish designer outlet village compared to 2024.

The outdoor clothing and equipment retailer has increased its store size by 70% to 6,276 sq ft and has relocated adjacent to the M&S outlet.

The larger space allows Mountain Warehouse to offer its complete product range, including outerwear, camping gear, and products from the Animal active lifestyle brand.

The expansion reflects the retailer’s continued investment in Caledonia Park, following a period of "strong" performance at the outlet.

Sales in the sportswear and outdoor category have grown by 16% year-to-date compared to 2024, highlighting sustained customer demand in this segment.

The outlet’s recent commercial success has also led to lease renewals and continued commitments from brands such as Superdry and Berghaus.

Maria Averkina, Asset & Development Manager at Railpen, which owns Caledonia Park, stated: "Mountain Warehouse’s upsized store highlights the confidence retailers have in our location, and the ability to perform well, grow and expand as a result.

"Our destination continues to excel because we understand our customers and consistently meet their needs. As a result, we’re achieving our strongest performance to date, reinforcing Caledonia Park as the premium designer outlet village in Scotland."

Sean Riley, Head of Acquisitions at Mountain Warehouse, added: "This upsize and opening was the natural next step for us at Caledonia Park as we continue to grow and connect with more customers.

"The outlet is a fantastic location with a real sense of community, and we’re excited to continue to share our passion for adventure with both locals and visitors."

The announcement comes after several recent store openings at Caledonia Park, including Jack & Jones and French Connection. These new additions, along with Mountain Warehouse’s expansion, reflect ongoing changes to the outlet’s retail offering and its efforts to attract a broader range of shoppers and brands.
