Canadian outerwear brand Moose Knuckles has appointed former Tom Ford and Burberry designer Joseph McGee as its new Vice President of Women’s Design.

Terence Bogan also joins the brand as Chief Merchant. Bogan earned his merchandising stripes at retail juggernauts like Barneys New York, Holt Renfrew and Urban Outfitters.

The strategic appointments reinforce the brand’s focus on understanding and serving the consumer, “seamlessly integrating the design and merchandising teams.”

McGee will play an integral role in hitting home the concept of a bold, playful, and empowering Moose Knuckles woman. After two years with Tom Ford, McGee's effectiveness in designing women's apparel that's “simultaneously sporty and sexy” is described as being “a perfect fit for Moose Knuckles,” as it continues to expand its global women's business.

Moose Knuckles Co-Chief Executive Officer, Noah Stern, said: "Joseph's background in global luxury fashion will provide the strong expertise required for this role as we look to grow our womenswear business significantly.”

At Burberry, McGee’s efforts cemented him as a champion of contemporary style and tailoring, as well as an innovator. He helped to introduce the “see now, buy now” concept, disrupting the standard design and production process to make pieces of a collection available for purchase almost immediately after they show.

McGee will also play a large role in the visual direction and styling of Moose Knuckles’ visual campaigns, beginning with the SS21 collection. He commented: "I'm thrilled to join a brand with such a strong understanding of who their customer is and to continue to build on the magnetic, self-aware, and fearless qualities of the Moose Knuckles woman. Women's outerwear design is an exciting category that will continue to see substantial growth in the coming years."

Bogan will be responsible for developing and directing merchandising strategies that amplify McGee and the rest of the design team's work through wholesale and direct-to-consumer channels. His experience aligning multiple business sectors at Solitaire Partners and Vince has “left him more than adequately prepared.”

McGee's passion for craftsmanship and detail, with a unique understanding of consumer needs, will complement Bogan's ability to interpret and convey conceptual ideas as Moose Knuckles “continues to take ownership of the luxury outerwear space.” Their work together will debut with the AW21 collection.
