Monsoon Accessorize to reopen over 100 stores

Monsoon Accessorize has appointed retail property expert Harper Dennis Hobbs to help with the reopening of over 100 UK stores.

Harper Dennis Hobbs is aiming “to secure new leases with landlords and reopen stores as quickly as possible."

Founder, Peter Simon recently bought the business out of administration in a move that resulted in the immediate closure of 35 stores and the loss of more than 500 jobs

Chairman David Harper said: “Monsoon and Accessorize are both staples of the British high street, and we are delighted to be advising Peter and his team to ensure stores can re-open in the coming weeks.

“We are working on an accelerated programme of delivery, negotiating with multiple landlords to get leases secured and stores open again. With restrictions for the UK high street lifting, we are determined to move quickly and efficiently in order to have stores trading in time for summer.”

Monsoon COO Nick Stowe added: “our landlords have been hugely supportive. Engaging with Harper Dennis Hobbs, and the experience their team bring, will help us accelerate our conversations.
