Missguided warns of 140 jobs losses as business restructures

Fashion retailer Missguided has announced that 140 jobs are at risk as it launches a "comprehensive restructure of the business".

The company said that it has been facing increasing costs from supply chain disruption, inflation and a drop in customer demand over the past 18 months.

"Missguided has not been immune to those challenges and at the end of 2021, with the help of external consultants, began a review of its structure in the light of market conditions," the statement read.

A 45-day consultation has been launched by the company, which currently employs 400 people in Manchester.

The 45-day consultation follows the sale of a 50% stake in Missguided to Alteri Investors in December 2021. Under the terms of the Alteri deal, the investor appointed two of its directors to the Missguided board.
