Micro trend: Luxe pyjamas at By Malene Birger

Copenhagen Fashion Week, which has just drawn to a close in the Danish capital, is always worth watching for trend direction.

One significant micro trend we have seen playing out on the streets and catwalks is the luxe pyjama look. Leading Copenhagen brand By Malene Birger showed two pyjama looks for SS17, one in a black and white silk stripe and one in bright blue with white piped edging.

On the streets of Copenhagen infuencer Marie Hindkær Wolthers of Blameitonfashion.com was spotted in a By Malene Birger pyjama-style suit in a brown, beige and orange print styled with sneakers and a Louis Vuitton handbag (this handbag was everywhere!).

Some brands are carrying pyjama style looks for AW16 (including Topshop and Sandro to name just two) but this is proof that the trend, which works as well for evening as it does for day (and which the wearer can break up into separates for added versatility) will carry on into next spring.
