Michael Kors x Ellesse collaboration joins ‘70s fashion revival

American fashion brand Michael Kors and Italian sportswear specialist Ellesse have joined forces on a 24-piece capsule collaboration, with a design focus on athletic styles of the 70’s – a key trend for SS22 - set to launch in May.

The collection features bold track jackets and bottoms, T-shirts, shorts, hoodies, vintage-style swimsuits, chunky sneakers, logo slides and neon bucket hats. There’s also an Ellesse spin on Michael Kors’ signature ‘Hudson’ backpack and ‘Bradshaw’ shoulder bag.

Ellesse's signature colour palette of fiery orange and red has been juxtaposed with classic shades of navy blue and crisp white, and the logos of both brands have been fused for this first-of-a-kind collaboration.

A new campaign and video to go with the launch, which was shot on a tennis court in Miami, is fronted by model Emily Ratajkowski and Brooklyn-based rap musician Jay Critch, alongside a cast of other musicians and models.

The capsule collection will also be brought to life in a series of pop-up installations and activations around the world.
