Michael Kors is set to enter the luxury childrenswear market with its debut children's apparel and accessories range, launching in partnership with Children Worldwide Fashion (CWF).

The collection will launch in Spring 2022, with the first offerings for girls aged 4-14. The Capri Holdings-operated company said the "cool, stylish and comfortable" collection is aimed at providing children with the confidence for self-expression.

The first drop includes pieces that draw inspiration from the label's women’s assortment, featuring a range of branded activewear, jersey dresses, fleece skirts, swimwear, backpacks and crossbody bags.

The collection will expand to include a baby clothing later in the year.

Josh Schulman, Chief Executive Officer of Michael Kors, said in a statement: "We are thrilled to be entering the children’s wear market with CWF, whose expertise in translating luxury fashion brands into children’s clothes and accessories is unparalleled.

"The sportswear inspiration at the heart of Michael Kors lends itself perfectly to the children’s market and we look forward to building upon this enormous opportunity with CWF."

French company CWF is a major player in luxury childrenswear, representing the likes of Givenchy, Chloé, Kenzo and Karl Lagerfeld for children's read to wear collections. The group also operates Kids Around, a multi-brand boutique chain. The international license agreement with Michael Kors expands its luxury portfolio and completes the New York label's presence in all market segments.
