ME+EM heads to Harrogate for latest boutique
Luxury British womenswear brand ME+EM has opened a 1,300 sq ft boutique at 4 Prospect Crescent in Harrogate, its first in the Yorkshire region as it continues to expand its retail footprint.
Harrogate is known for its classical Victorian architecture, and the new store is housed in a Grade II–listed former bank which was built between 1873 and 1880. There are even two original vaults tucked away in the basement, which are now part of ME+EM’s stockroom.
Posting on LinkedIn, ME+EM said: "In keeping with the global ME+EM design language, the Harrogate store features traditional English furniture juxtaposed with modern design elements such as neutral-toned soft furnishings in fabrications by London-based designer Rose Uniacke and plaster walls.
“An immersive space within the store adopts a full colour drench in a rich forest green, a nod to the beautiful Yorkshire Dales nearby".
In the UK, the new Harrogate location adds to ME+EM’s seven stores in London, including on Marylebone High Street, on the King’s Road in Chelsea, on Brook Street in Mayfair, on Elizabeth Street in Belgravia and at Battersea Power Station, as well as a store in Manchester and one in Edinburgh.
At the end of October, ME+EM posted impressive growth with revenues climbing 24% to £147.9 million for the year ending January 2025, fuelled by booming demand in the United States.
The brand’s formula - timeless, flattering, and functional pieces that elevate everyday dressing - continues to resonate with customers globally, particularly across the Atlantic. In the US, sales surged 61% to £47.3 million.
The brand’s first physical store outside the UK opened on Madison Avenue in New York in February 2024, marking a pivotal step in its international journey. That has since been followed by a second New York location on Mercer Street, as well as stores in Dallas and Greenwich in Connecticut. Another new US store is soon to be added in Beverly Hills, California.
Additionally, in the UK ME+EM relocated its Marylebone store to a larger flagship site and expanded its King’s Road boutique, both designed to offer more personalised styling and curated wardrobe building services.
