Master Debonair to open store in Chesterfield

Men’s formalwear independent Master Debonair is to open a 1,000 sq ft store in Chesterfield, Derbyshire, next week, and plans to open three to six more stores in different locations in the next six months.

The new store, on a two-year lease that may be extended, will be located on the first floor above the Nora Eve bridal shop at 29 West Bars, Chesterfield.

Master Debonair co-founder, Eve Whitaker, said: “We were approached by the current owner of Nora Eve bridalwear, who has a very successful bridal store on the ground floor and menswear on the first floor.

“Her passion is bridal, not menswear, but she wanted the store to go to someone who would put some magic into it and she had been a follower of Master Debonair for years.”

Master Debonair, which has its flagship shop and showroom in East Boldon, Tyne and Wear, closed its store at 49 Commercial Street in London’s Spitafields in September, following the end of its 10-month lease to “test the market outside of the North East.”

The Master Debonair own-brand suits are now its bestsellers, with the "Lestrade" three-piece suit retailing at £225. Coats start at £110.
