Marks & Spencer stages menswear pop-up in Soho

Marks & Spencer is staging a dedicated menswear pop-up in London's Soho designed to challenge shoppers' perceptions of its men's fashion and to widen its appeal.

The pop-up, which runs until 28 September at 15 Bateman Street, is not operating under the retailer's brand, in order that the shoppers will enter the store without any pre-conceptions.

It is branded as Mike & Tom's in homage to Michael Marks and Thomas Spencer, the founders of the retailer and is operated by Marks & Spencer staff. The bespoke environment houses an edit of AW19 key pieces along with early access to a selection of new pieces not yet available in-store or online. An edit of the Soho store's offer is also available to buy online.

M&S said its menswear offer this season focused on "offering more style, more contemporary fits and more versatility across the wardrobe". New season styles shown in the store include relaxed sweatshirts, camo print parkas and bags, cord shackets, check tailoring, wool caps and contrast sole trainers.

Wes Taylor, Director of Menswear at M&S said: “Mike & Tom’s isn’t just a pop-up shop to showcase our newest collection, it demonstrates the direction of Menswear at Marks & Spencer – more stylish, more contemporary, better fitting - but always great value and always great quality. We’re proud to be the retailer of choice for millions of men across the UK – especially on the products we’re known for like suits, but we also want to see more men giving M&S a try this Autumn/Winter and seeing us as a brand for them.

"Shopping M&S Menswear isn’t just about clothing – it’s also about great service – which is why we’re proud to have the very best team running the store – friendly, knowledgeable and stylish. Men are more style conscious and want more from their wardrobe than ever before - we know there’s lots to do in M&S Menswear, and we’re really looking forward to hearing our customers feedback.”
