Stripe & Stare to open debut store on London’s King’s Road
Stripe & Stare, the London-born lingerie brand that has built a cult following for comfort-led underwear, is opening its first-ever brick-and-mortar store on King’s Road this February.
The two-floor pop-up will open on 14 February at 149 King’s Road, Chelsea, and run until 8 June. The space will showcase Stripe & Stare’s full core offering across lingerie and sleepwear, spanning best-selling knickers, thongs and Brazilians, alongside bras and nightwear.
Founded in 2017 by Katie Lopes and Nicola Piercy, Stripe & Stare was developed following more than six years of research and development carried out on King’s Road, with a focus on fit, fabric innovation and all-day comfort. The opening represents a full-circle moment for the brand as it looks to deepen its direct-to-consumer strategy and test the role of physical retail in its next phase of growth.
"Opening on the King’s Road feels incredibly special," said co-founder Katie Lopes. "This is where Stripe & Stare was shaped - where we tested, refined and obsessed over what comfort really means for women. Bringing the brand back here is a full-circle moment."
Inside the King’s Road space, seasonal colourways will sit alongside the brand’s core styles, all crafted from responsibly sourced fabrics. Stripe & Stare’s entire range is made using Tencel Micro Modal - a material derived from sustainably sourced wood pulp that is 95% biodegradable, three times softer than cotton and produced using a closed-loop system that reuses water during manufacturing.
Beyond retail, the pop-up has been designed as an experiential brand space. Customers will be offered expert styling advice, access to co-branded partnerships and a programme of in-store events aimed at building community and strengthening engagement.
"We often wonder why beauty brands are so exciting to shop and underwear isn’t," Lopes added. "This is the beginning of our mission to make shopping for underwear fun."
