Marks & Spencer appoints former Arcadia creative director

27 November 2019

Marks & Spencer has appointed Anthony Cassidy, former creative director at Arcadia, as head of brand creative.

Cassidy, who spent three years with Sir Philip Green's retail empire and before that worked with retail guru Mary Portas, will join Marks & Spencer in the spring reporting to Nathan Ansell, M&S director of clothing & home marketing.

The role has been covered on a temporary basis by brand strategy consulant Clare Dobbie, who has previously held senior roles at Dunelm, Hobbs and ASOS.

Cassidy's appointment comes a week after the retailer announced it has hired Tesco F&F CEO Richard Price as managing director of Clothing & Home. Price had previously been menswear trading director at M&S until 2012.

Cassidy joins in the spring while Price is due to arrive during 2020.
