Manolo Blahnik to open first ever men's store in Burlington Arcade

Legendary footwear designer Manolo Blahnik is set to open his first ever dedicated men's boutique in London's Burlington Arcade this Friday.

The designer told the Evening Standard that new store, which occupies a 411 sq ft extension of the designer's original Burlington Arcade store, was "tiny but fabulous". The men's range features basket weave loafers and sandals, suede brogues in an array of bright colours, desert boots, Chelsea boots and car shoes among other styles.

One item that is certainly not included is trainers, which, despite being on-trend are deplored by Blahnik who dismissed them as "horrible things!".

The men's boutique took over a space previously occupied by pen retailer Penfriend next to the original Manolo Blahnik store, which runs to around 1,000 sq ft. Blahnik is famously very choosy about where he opens stores and the Burlington Arcade store is only his second in London when it opened in 2016, more than 40 years after he opened his first store in Chelsea.

In 2016 the designer made the move into e-commerce with a site powered by Farfetch's Black & White platform.
