Mango unveils sustainable denim collection

13 February 2020

Mango has today unveiled a new denim-led collection created from sustainable cotton.

Modelled by British model Edie Campbell, the collection is inspired by denim styles from the 80s and 90s and includes high waists and washed textures with plenty of volume.

The use of sustainable cotton, sourced from certified crops, and technical innovations with a lower environmental impact in the finish of denim garments, makes it possible to reduce the use of chemical substances, water and energy during manufacture. The retailer has also used recycled fibres.

Jeans in the collection are priced at £35.99 with a jumpsuit priced at £59.99.

The Spanish fashion giant has said that one of its key objectives is to increase the proportion of sustainable fibres in its collection, and by 2025 100% of the cotton used in its garments will be sustainably sourced. By 2018 the firm had already set a target for 50% of its cotton to be sustainable by 2022 and in the same year signed up to the Better Cotton Initiative (BCI) to increase its support for the cultivation of sustainable cotton worldwide.

Mango recently unveiled a sustainable jewellery line created using 3D printing techniques.
