Mango accelerates UK expansion of Mango Teen targeting 'gap in the market'
Mango is fast-tracking the expansion of its teen-focused fashion line in the UK, citing strong demand for stylish, affordable youthwear and the growing power of the "teen pound".
The Spanish fashion giant will open its third standalone Mango Teen store in the UK on 1 August at Buchanan Galleries in Glasgow. The launch marks both the brand’s first Teen store in Scotland and its first outside London.
The move follows what Mango described as a strong performance for Mango Teen in the UK, a market it considers "a priority" for international growth. The line has gained traction among Gen Z shoppers through standalone stores on Carnaby Street and at Westfield London.
The UK now hosts more standalone Mango Teen stores than any other international market. Mango’s global expansion strategy saw the number of standalone Teen stores double in 2024, reaching more than 40 locations worldwide, alongside an online presence in 95 markets.
The expansion aligns with Mango’s strong H1 2025 performance, where it reported a 12% year-on-year increase in turnover, reaching €1.7 billion (£1.4 billion). International business accounted for 78% of total sales during the period, highlighting Mango’s growing influence outside its domestic market.
Berta Moral, Global Director of Mango Kids and Teen, said: "Today’s teens are turning to fashion to express themselves like never before. We see a clear gap in the market for contemporary, youthful fashion at a reasonable price point and our collection of timeless staples and modern pieces in eye-catching prints and quality fabrics is already resonating with this younger generation.
"That’s why we’re accelerating our expansion of Mango Teen in the UK with the opening of new standalone Teen stores and stylish new collections."
Launched in 2021, Mango Teen aims to bridge the style gap between childhood and adulthood with a collection rooted in the Mediterranean flair its adult label is renowned for. The affordable line spans clothing, footwear, accessories and sportswear, with all products designed in-house at Mango’s atelier in Barcelona.
