07 January 2022

Organisers of the Man/Woman trade show have announced the cancellation of the event, citing concerns over rising COVID-19 cases across the globe.

The news comes just one day after lingerie, swimwear and sportswear trade shows the Salon International de la Lingerie and Interfilière Paris postponed its January edition shows.

Luxury brand Giorgio Armani was scheduled to showcase its men's AW22/23 collections in Milan on 14-18 January, along with its Prive haute couture show in Paris on 24-27 January. Both have now been cancelled due to COVID-19 infection rates.

In France, daily cases of COVID-19 rose to almost 330,000 yesterday. Face masks have been made mandatory in all enclosed public spaces. From 3 January 2022, indoor events were limited to 2,000 people indoors and 5,000 people outdoors, standing concerts have also been banned.

A statement from organisers said: "In light of new health concerns respecting COVID-19, and in the interest of our valued brands and buyers, we have decided to cancel our upcoming MAN/WOMAN AW22 Paris show.

"Paris is an international city, and the Paris MAN/WOMAN show is engaging expressly because of its internationalism. Eighty percent of participating brands and buyers come from outside of France. Unfortunately, because of developing health concerns and travel restrictions, many of those brands and buyers would have been unable to attend this January. We look forward to reuniting in June at Place Vendôme for the MAN/WOMAN SS 2023.

"In the meantime, we remain active at small, remodeling our Paris storefront and providing consulting services for collaborating brands. To our friends and participants in our upcoming MAN/WOMAN NYC AW22 show, we still look forward to seeing you there at 52 Walker St from January 26th to 28th.

"As we speak, our WOMAN AW22 show in Paris is still happening, on Place Vendôme, from March 4th to 6th. We wish you our best in these difficult times, which, we all hope, we’ll be clear of very soon. Please don’t hesitate to contact us with any questions or concerns."
