Mallet drops latest sneaker inspired by London’s skyscrapers

Premium British label Mallet London has released its latest sneaker silhouette – the Neptune – inspired by the Gherkin building that graces London’s skyline.

Tommy Mallet first found fame appearing on the reality TV show ‘The Only Way is Essex’, better known as Towie, in 2014, but it was his passion for footwear, particularly trainers, that spurred him to build his own business from scratch in 2015 under the Mallet name.

Mallet is now sold in some of the best stores in the UK, and indeed the world, with apparel being added to the product mix in 2019.

The brand's latest launch, the Neptune sneaker, was designed to channel "progressive fashion" and "contemporary elegance". The sneaker's sleek lines and silhouette reflects the Gherkin’s distinct curves.

The Neptune sneakers, available in 13 unisex colourways, feature an innovative outsole design that combines style and functionality. The universal style adapts to the wearer's environment, from city streets to outdoor activities.

Tommy Mallet, the Creative Director of Mallet London, commented: "The eagerly awaited, Neptune, represents the rebirth of Mallet London, our creative journey started amidst the council tower blocks, only to soar to new heights with inspiration drawn from the city skyscrapers."

The Neptune sneaker will be available tomorrow (19 May 2023) online at mallet.com and in select retail stores, starting at £225.

Earlier this year, Mallet partnered with Transport for London (TfL) on a limited edition capsule collection, featuring the brand’s ‘Knox’ trainers that celebrate the iconic Tube map, which was designed by Harry Beck in 1933 – 90 years ago this year.
