French luxury house Maison Margiela continue to wade into gender fluidity with the unveiling of a genderless capsule, the Icons Collection, for the Autumn/Winter 2021 season.

Developed by renowned British fashion designer and Maison Margiela Creative Director John Galliano, the new collection builds upon the house’s Artisanal and Co-Ed collections to recreate its familiar wardrobe staples and formalwear.

The collection offers trench coats, relaxed silk suiting, reworked re-constructed button-down shirts, knitwear, nylon outwear in timeless colours including taupe, grey, olive, black, navy, camel and heritage red.

The house’s use of wool, herringbone, calvary twill, cotton, silk and tattersall fabrics are completed with its signature white stitching, staple red thread details, five-hole buttons embroidered with the letter M and exposed seams, quintessential components to Galliano's Maison Margiela.

Each Maison Margiela clothing label feature a series of numbers referencing the different elements of the house. The Icons Collection builds on lines 4 and 14, which refer to the wardrobe lines for for women and men respectively, presented as one genderless collection.

To celebrate its latest collection, Maison Margiela will be staging temporary spaces in stores in its London, Paris and Tokyo flagship stores.
