Mainstay Manchester bespoke shirtmaker rebrands and relocates to new flagship store

Long-standing Manchester menswear business Frank Rostron Bespoke Shirtmakers, which has been on Princess Street in the city for 55 years, has rebranded to Dooley & Rostron, expanded its offer, and relocated to a brand new flagship at 38 King Street after a £250,000 shop fit.

Tailor and Director Adam Dooley, who took over the Frank Rostron business in 2008, now offers a full bespoke tailoring service and ready to wear offering, and customers can witness garments being created in an open factory downstairs.

With the rebrand comes a new website which looks to elevate the online shopping experience using 3D technology to take measurements, giving an accurate fitting from the comfort of a customer’s own home using an app.

The new Dooley & Rostron logo has been designed by the noted Manchester icon Peter Saville CBE, the artist responsible for Burberry’s latest rebrand and artwork for the likes of Joy Division.

The flagship store also includes a coffee bar called Factory Coffee, offering its customers and passers-by award-winning coffee and homemade baked goods, which can be enjoyed in-store or outdoors on the new terrace seating on King Street.

Adam Dooley said: “Watching this rebrand come to life has been incredible. Everyone in some capacity is ready for a fresh start and we’re no different. I’m beyond thrilled to welcome people through the doors and have the ability to witness our craftsmanship first hand.”

Notable clients of the tailoring business include Mayor of Greater Manchester, Andy Burnham, and former Manchester United footballer and TV pundit, Rio Ferdinand.
