LVMH set to launch a luxury label with Rihanna
Luxury conglomerate LVMH has announced it will create a new luxury maison with music star, style icon and entrepreneur Rihanna.
The label will be based in Paris and will encompass ready to wear, shoes and accessories. Rihanna, whose full name is Robyn Rihanna Fenty, said she had been given complete creative freedom to create the brand by LVMH chairman and CEO Bernard Arnaud.
“Designing a line like this with LVMH is an incredibly special moment for us. Mr. Arnault has given me a unique opportunity to develop a fashion house in the luxury sector, with no artistic limits. I couldn’t imagine a better partner both creatively and business-wise, and I’m ready for the world to see what we have built together," she said.
The luxury group and the artist already have a partnership on her beauty brand Fenty Beauty, which has been a global success. “Everybody knows Rihanna as a wonderful singer, but through our partnership at Fenty Beauty, I discovered a true entrepreneur, a real CEO and a terrific leader. She naturally finds her full place within LVMH. To support Rihanna to start up the Fenty Maison, we have built a talented and multicultural team supported by the Group resources. I am proud that LVMH is leading this venture and wish it will be a great success,” Arnaud said.
Fenty will debut in Spring of this year but no further information has been revealed at this stage. A website and Instagram account have been launched but are yet to feature any content.
