LVMH begins digital transformation with Gonzague de Pirey's new appointment

Luxury fashion conglomerate LVMH has promoted Gonzague de Pirey to Chief Omnichannel and Data officer, which will see him lead the group’s digital transformation.

Gonzague de Pirey joined LVMH in 2020 to manage Sephora's German subsidiary and was later promoted to Head of New Projects in 2022.

His new position, effective 1 June, will see him report directly to Antonio Belloni, LVMH's deputy CEO,

Antonio Belloni, Managing Director of LVMH, commented on the appointment: "With [Pirey’s] extensive experience in omnichannel businesses, in various sectors and countries, and as leader of Sephora New Ventures, he has demonstrated his ability to drive innovative initiatives for the benefit of our customers and our business.

"His strengths will be instrumental in accelerating the progress of our companies and regions in the exploitation of technology and data."

LVMH noted, in his new role, "Gonzague will manage the global integration of data and artificial intelligence into the value chain of our brands. His teams will work with visionary companies in terms of innovation, as well as with our houses, to provide an optimal and more integrated customer experience across all touchpoints, and to improve the efficiency and responsiveness of our supply chains."

Last month, LVMH posted an "excellent start to [the] year", with Q1 sales boosted across all business groups. The company reported revenue growth of 17% to £18.4 billion (€21 billion) for the first quarter of FY23, with the fashion and leather goods segment revealing growth across its fashion superbrands.
