Lush has re-opened 88 of its stores and six Lush Spas in England and Wales today, with a raft of new safety measures and tech innovations in place.

Recycled and recyclable perspex screens have been installed at till points, while the retailer’s updated Lush Lens smartphone tec offers shoppers an improved contact and packaging-free shopping experience.

With more than 50% of Lush’s in-store range sold unpackaged, an update to the Lush app allows shoppers to scan unpackaged products and see detailed ingredient information, prices and ‘how to use’ demonstrations.

Socially distanced product demonstrations are also being supported in-store with the use of pre-filled sample pots featuring tamper proof seals to ensure safe sampling.

Continuous cleaning rotas are also in place and customers are being invited to wash their hands as soon as they arrive in store using a piece of soap peel, or Lush hand sanitiser.

The re-opening is also being backed by a range of new product launches and Lush’s new ‘Bring It Back’ plastic packaging returns scheme which rewards customers with money off their next purchase for each plastic Lush item returned.

Lush’s Oxford Street store is also currently undergoing a major refit designed to bring together experiences and activations from Lush concept shops around the world under one roof.

The newly transformed store is set to open on 1 May.
