Canadian athleisure brand lululemon has signed for a new store in Tunsgate Quarter, the new 80,000 sq ft retail and restaurant development in the centre of Guildford.

lululemon will take a 1,815 sq ft store in the scheme, which will be transformed into a studio space each week, when guests will be invited to join complimentary yoga and fitness classes led by a local trainer.

The retailer joins the existing line-up for Tunsgate Quarter, which includes Loaf, OKA, The White Company, Cath Kidston, Bobbi Brown and The Ivy Collection, who will start fitting-out in the coming weeks.

"This latest announcement demonstrates the consistent quality of the exciting line-up we’re creating at Tunsgate Quarter. lululemon is very much in line with the unique retail and leisure destination we’re creating in Guildford. The community is at the heart of this scheme and we know lululemon will appeal to Guildford’s local and wider catchment,” said Chris Daly senior leasing manager at real estate business Queensbury.

When complete, the new-look Tunsgate Quarter will feature 18 shops and eight restaurants. Queensberry’s vision is to create an expanded leisure hub, embracing independent retailers, adjacent to the scheme, as well as adding to the choice from the High Street and offering views across Guildford Castle and gardens.

lululemon has a number of standalone stores in London, including Regent Street, King's Road, Covent Garden and in Richmond upon Thames, as well as a store in Edinburgh.
