Lululemon grows UK retail portfolio to 17 as it plans to open first Brighton store

Athletic apparel brand Lululemon is opening its first store in Brighton later this month, a 1,700 sq ft space that will be located at 6/7 North Street, within Redevco’s Hanningtons Estate.

The new store will showcase Lululemon's range of activewear products for activities including yoga, running and training and build on the brand's mission to create a community through a local grass roots approach.

The Canada-based business currently operates 16 stores in the UK after first entering the market in 2015, and 574 ones worldwide.

The news follows Lululemon's positive annual results that saw it surpassing a revenue milestone of £4.79 billion for the financial year that ended 30 January 2022.

The brand also recently entered the footwear category for the first time with a collection of performance-focused footwear for women, with CEO Calvin McDonald calling the expansion a "natural next step" that saw the brand applying its "long history of innovation in fit, feel and performance" to a new category.

The business has also appointed Alison Loehnis, President of Luxury and Fashion at Yoox Net-a-Porter to its Board of Directors as it continues to grow globally.
