Lucy & Yak to relocate and upsize Cambridge store

Conscious clothing brand Lucy & Yak is relocating from its store at 36 Green Street in Cambridge to a larger premises at 13 Sussex Street in the famous university city, opening on 14 March 2025.

The new store will offer customers the opportunity to explore Lucy & Yak’s latest releases, alongside its core collections, and the interior will feature a bright colour palette, "creating a fun and inviting atmosphere". There will also be six changing rooms.

Since opening in 2023, Lucy & Yak’s signature pink-painted store on Green Street has quickly become a popular shopping destination in Cambridge, which has spurred the expansion.

Lucy Greenwood, co-founder of Lucy & Yak, said: "We’ve loved meeting our community in Cambridge so far and can’t wait to welcome them into the new shop on Sussex Street.

"With more space we plan to relaunch our events programme to include our Re:Yak workshops - inspiring new ways to mend and repair, to help keep our clothes in circulation for longer. There’s lots to come and we can’t wait to share more details soon."

Now with 11 UK stores, including Bristol, Norwich, Nottingham, Canterbury, Manchester, Cardiff, Exeter and its flagship in Brighton, as well as its first outlet in Castleford, Lucy & Yak’s expansion in Cambridge is part of its plans to have a greater physical presence across the UK, "providing more opportunities for face-to-face interactions with the Yak community".

Each shop also aims to act as a ‘PreLoved’ hub, promoting the brand’s circularity initiatives such as its buyback scheme, while serving as a space for customers to recycle, repair or upcycle their clothes.
