Lucy & Yak to relocate and upsize Brighton flagship
Conscious clothing brand Lucy & Yak is relocating its first Brighton store, located on Kensington Gardens, to a larger unit on North Road – opening in September 2025.
The second Brighton store, described as being focused on Lucy & Yak’s "earthier customer" in The Lanes which opened in February 2024, remains as its more sustainability focused shop.
Since opening its doors in 2020, Lucy & Yak’s signature pink-painted store on Kensington Gardens has quickly become a standout in Brighton’s shopping scene.
Lucy Greenwood, co-founder of Lucy & Yak, said: "When we first brought the brand to Brighton, we opened our first shop on the corner of Tidy Street before relocating to Kensington Gardens.
"This space became our first official ‘little pink shop’ as well as the office for our product and marketing teams - it feels like the start of a new chapter moving to North Road!
"Our retail teams are excited to have more space to showcase our products which will now be on one floor instead of two, as well as wider space to host more events such as our Re:Yak workshops."
The new store will offer customers and the Lucy & Yak community the opportunity to explore the brand’s latest releases alongside its core collections.
In keeping with Lucy & Yak’s creative ethos, the brand will collaborate with local artist Alice Humphreys to create a stand out mural across the store front. Humphreys’ work blends bold colour, abstract patterns, and playful figures "to craft vibrant, characterful spaces".
Lucy & Yak’s continued expansion follows the successful launches of stores in Bristol, Cambridge, Canterbury, Norwich, Nottingham, Canterbury, Manchester, Cardiff, Exeter and Chester, as well as its first outlet store in Castleford.
Last month, Lucy & Yak announced it is launching a new sub-brand called L&Y, debuting in September 2025 and offering a "more muted and tranquil" approach to dressing.
In March 2025, Lucy & Yak relocated its store at 36 Green Street in Cambridge to larger premises at 13 Sussex Street in the famous university city.
