Louis Vuitton hires Acqua di Parma CEO for men's product role

Giulio Bergamaschi, who has served as Chief Executive of Italian fragrance and lifestyle brand Acqua di Parma since 2023, will leave the role for Louis Vuitton’s men's division as Chief Product Officer, effective 1 September 2026.

The appointment, first reported by WWD, keeps Bergamaschi within LVMH, which owns both brands.

Louis Vuitton deputy CEO Damien Bertrand said in an internal memo that "in his new role, Giulio will bring his extensive expertise in product development, his sophisticated approach to communication positioning, as well as his experience in creating immersive Louis Vuitton retail experiences".

Bergamaschi graduated from Milan's Bocconi University in 2004 and spent 18 years at L'Oréal, where he held roles that included Global Brand President for Biotherm and General Manager for L'Oréal Paris DMI in China.

He joined LVMH in April 2022 as Strategic Missions Director for Loro Piana before taking the top job at Acqua di Parma in 2023, succeeding Laura Burdese, who had moved to Bulgari.

His departure comes as LVMH also names Louis-Antoine Rousseau as Managing Director of Acqua di Parma, effective 1 September. Rousseau, who is currently General Manager of Parfums Christian Dior in Hong Kong, will answer to Véronique Courtois, President and CEO of Parfums Christian Dior and of LVMH's beauty division.

The news follows LVMH's first-quarter revenue of €19.1 billion (£16.6 billion). The Fashion & Leather Goods division - which includes Louis Vuitton - declined 2% on an organic basis, reflecting softer demand amid regional instability.

It highlighted how Louis Vuitton continued to express its cultural vision through its retail spaces, creating distinctive customer experiences, including the opening of its new flagship store in Beijing and LV The Place Seoul, both of which delivered "strong" performance.
