Looney Tunes X MCM launches a collaboration celebrating 80 years of Tweety

MCM (Modern Creation München) has teamed up with cartoon franchise Looney Tunes for a capsule collection featuring Tweety Pie.

The animated canary, who turns 80 years old on the 21 November, has been entertaining audiences with its “I tawt I taw a puddy tat” catchphrase, while narrowly escaping the grips of Sylvester the cat, for eight decades. The luxury leather label MCM has collaborated with Warner Bros to create 30 original pieces with the beloved character Tweety stamping each item from bags to ready-to-wear.

Dirk Schönberger, Global Brand Officer at MCM, commented: “This special collaboration between MCM and Warner Bros. Discovery Consumer Products is an inspiring opportunity to connect with our customers and fans given Tweety’s iconic character.”

The collection includes tote bags, backpacks, and shoppers available in new editions in the iconic Visetos Monogram. In addition,  a range of hoodies and sweaters bestow the instantly recognisable character playfully sporting an MCM bucket hat, perfectly synergizing with the brand's contemporary vision. The pieces range from £175 to £3,190 and are available online, in MCM stores, and in global pop-ups. Each brick-and-mortar location is kitted out in Tweety imagery and his bird cage, creating an in-person immersive experience for the fans.

The iconic character’s birthday is also being celebrated at the Warner Brother’s Studio with new and exciting Tweety content on HBO Max, ensuring a new generation of fans that align with MCM's 'millennial and Gen Z audience' that is 'genderless, ageless, empowered and unconstrained by rules and boundaries.

This collaboration follows MCM's successful partnerships with Puma and Crocs earlier this year.
