London Fashion Week AW16/17: Alexander McQueen returns to London as schedule is revealed

10 December 2015

Alexander McQueen will bring its mainline fashion show back to London from Paris for the AW 16/17 edition of London Fashion Week.

The show, which will be one of the biggest draws of Fashion Week, will take place on Sunday 21 February at 7pm. This will be the first time the label has shown its main line at London Fashion Week since Sarah Burton took the helm as creative director following Lee Alexander McQueen's passing in 2010.

Also making a return to London Fashion Week is British accessories brand Mulberry who will also be showing on Sunday 21 February at 4pm. The brand stepped back from staging a London Fashion Week show following the departure of former creative director Emma Hill two years ago. The show will be a big statement for its new creative director Johnny Coco who joined from Celine earlier this year.

Emma Hill has since gone on to establish her own label Hill & Friends, which made its London Fashion Week debut last season. She is back and will be showing on the Sunday morning at 10.30am.

Another big draw will be footwear and accessories Charlotte Olympia who will be staging her first fully fledged London Fashion Week show at 6pm on Friday 19 February.

Other big names on the schedule are clustered on Monday 22 February and include: Burberry - 1pm, Christopher Kane - 3pm, and Erdem - 11am.

One name absent from the list is Jonathan Saunders who this week revealed he was shuttering his namesake label after 12 years.

The event, staged by the British Fashion Council, will once again be centred on Soho's Brewer Street Carpark for catwalks (though the big names above all show at their own venues) and ICA on the Mall for presentations. It runs from Friday 19 February to Tuesday 23 February.
