London Collections: Men is Stronger Than Ever: Full Schedule Announced

The Industry London
06 June 2015

Menswear is the fastest growing clothing sector in the UK with retailers capitalising on the surging demand for trend-led mens’ fashion. Overall, the fashion industry contributes £26bn to the British economy, and menswear accounts for upwards of £12.9bn. That figure is set to keep on growing and should reach £16.4bn by 2018. The growth in online menswear sales is even outperforming all other divisions with a 17.4% growth between 2010 and 2015. It goes without saying that London Collections: Men is attracting ever more brands and ever more attention.

The full schedule was announced yesterday by the British Fashion Council with a bevy of added names such as House of Holland’s debut menswear collection, LATHBRIDGE by Patrick Cox, Tourne de Transmission, Berthold and Tommy Hilfiger.

The regular headliners are still around with Tom Ford, Burberry, Topman, Alexander McQueen, Jimmy Choo and Paul Smith to name a but a few; without forgetting some pretty exquisite tailoring with the likes of Hardy Amies, Richard James, Gieves & Hawkes or Dunhill.

At any given fashion week, emerging talent is always given a share of the limelight, and LC:M is showcasing NEWGEN MEN designers —sponsored by TOPMAN— who are invited to present their collections: Craig Green, Astrid Andersen, CMMN SWDN, Vidur, Cottweiler, Nasir Mazhar and street cool Agi & Sam.

Now in its sixth year, LC:M will also be opening up a Designers Showroom incorporating over 70 menswear designers, and located in The Hospital Club, The Hospital Club Annexe and Accessories Showroom, Victoria House.

Don’t forget that The Industry in partnership with Candid Magazine and Forward PR will be hosting The Grooming Room on June 14th and 15th, a place for presentations, after-parties and a relaxation space/workspace in between presentations and catwalk shows. Located at private members’ club Century Soho, the two-day event will offer a range of complimentary grooming and beauty treatments, presentations from key LC: M designers, free Wi-Fi and quiet nooks for meetings.
