Traditional English shoemakers Loake is looking to add two further stores to its retail portfolio this year, following the recent openings of stores in Brighton and Salisbury.

As people get back to work, back to shops and back to some kind of normality, the brand sees the personal service it can offer instore as the key to its plans.

Loake Managing Director, Andrew Cory, said: “We believe there is a pent-up desire to get out back in to the city centres again, coinciding with a return to the office environment. The personal level of service that can be offered in store offers more of an emotional connection between staff and customers, more so than online.”

The new Brighton shop, at 40 East Street, opened on 29 May, while the Salisbury shop, located at 6/7 Queens Street, opened more recently on 17 July – carrying over 120 Loake styles, as well as leather goods and accessories including British-made socks and belts, as well as shoe care items.

Salisbury Store Manager, Faz McVey, commented: “We intend to become an established part of the Salisbury community and we are very lucky to be in such a wonderful city. A traditional English shoemaker, in a traditional English city! All are welcome to come and visit - whether it be to find your dream wedding shoes, casual or shoes for work, to book or enquire about shoe repairs, or even to obtain some expert shoe care advice - we are here to help in any way we can.”

The two recent openings means Loake now has 21 stores in the UK, which include five in London and eight in partnership with The Brogue Trader (branded as Loake) – at locations including Bath, Canterbury, Manchester, Leeds, Edinburgh and Glasgow.
