British shoemakers Loake has announced the opening of a new 900 sq ft store at 10 White Lion Street in Norwich, close to the city’s bustling Castle Quarter.

It marks the fifth Loake opening since the start of the pandemic in 2020, taking the brand’s UK store portfolio to 24. The other locations that were added since 2020 are Brighton, Salisbury, York and Nottingham, while a Loake outlet store in Birmingham was closed in April this year.

Loake Sales & Marketing Director, Richard Utting, said: “This newest addition to our retail portfolio supports our aims of investing in UK high streets while providing the best and most personal service to our valued customers.

“Norwich is a great commercial city for retail in general and has long been a target for Loake expansion. The socio demographic make-up of the population is perfect for the opening of a full Loake store.

“There is an opportunity that has been bought about by high street closures and the willingness of landlords to encourage new tenants. Loake are taking advantage of these conditions to maximise the rising demand for our brand and products.”

To celebrate the official opening, Loake are inviting customers to join them in-store over the weekend of 2/3 July for an opening event with drinks.

All guests will have the opportunity to enter an exclusive prize draw for the chance to win a Loake shoe care valet box worth £135, and there will be 20% off all accessories with any shoe purchase.
