Iconic London department store Liberty today unveiled its first own-brand women's ready-to-wear collection at a catwalk show held at its store.

The ultra-feminine collection is due to hit stores in October, with most pieces retailing between £395 and £995. It will be made available via wholesale.

It features dresses, knits, separates, footwear, bags and scarves all featuring prints from Liberty's famous archive.

The collection is the brainchild of the retailer's new Head of Design Holly Marler who previously worked for Alexander McQueen and Temperley.

"Each piece in the collection tells a story, with the prints informing the silhouette of each garment from the beginning. We wanted to create a ready-to-wear collection for a mind-set rather than an age; a creative, eccentric collector, with a love of beautiful things and an appreciation for the hidden details," she told the Evening Standard.

Marler plans to create four womenswear collections a year and will also expand into homewares and further accessories in the future.
