Launer launches handbags to celebrate Queen's 94th birthday

Royal Warrant Holder, Launer London has announced a special limited edition collection to celebrate The Queen's upcoming 94th birthday, each stamped in gold foil text.

Featuring gold foil 'Royal Edition' text on the inside leather plaque, all special edition bags come in various shades of blue, a colour often linked to royalty.

Gerald Bodmer CEO of Launer said: "By launching these limited edition handbags in celebration of Her Majesty The Queen's birthday, it's a fitting way for customers worldwide to have something that's unique and uplifting, especially in these times".

Since 1981, all productions of the Launer handbags have been made by hand at the factory in Walsall, with all of the bag constructions done by women, many of whom have worked at Launer for a number of years.

Last year, Her Majesty The Queen’s personal dresser confirmed that the monarch will no longer wear real fur, in a move welcomed by animal rights groups.

In an interview with Vogue, Angela Kelly said:  “If Her Majesty is due to attend an engagement in particularly cold weather, from 2019 onwards fake fur will be used to make sure she stays warm."
