Luxury French fashion house Lanvin has announced it has appointed former Theory Chief Brand Officer, Siddhartha Shukla, as its new Deputy General Manager to lead its global growth.

Shukla, 43, spent the past eight years at Theory, Fast Retailing’s contemporary fashion brand, and prior to that he led worldwide marketing and communications at Yves Saint Laurent and Gucci in Paris and New York for over a decade.

He will now oversee the global development of Lanvin, focusing on business development, product strategy, digital excellence and brand positioning initiatives.

Shukla succeeds Arnaud Bazin who will depart from Lanvin at the end of the year. He will report to Joann Cheng, Chairwoman of Lanvin and Lanvin Group – alongside fellow Deputy General Manager Grace Zhao who oversees Lanvin’s China and Asia Pacific business.

Cheng said: “Throughout his career, Siddhartha has been at the forefront of business transformation, product innovation and brand marketing, challenging the status quo and ushering in new opportunities for growth.

“His deep knowledge of the sector, his diverse experience across centuries-old luxury houses and the contemporary segment alike, and his global perspective make him the ideal steward of Lanvin. I am confident he will drive the brand’s pioneering spirit and reinvigorate what is the oldest French couture house.”

Shukla commented: “I am honoured to join the house Jeanne Lanvin founded over 130 years ago. At this critical moment in its evolution, Lanvin has tremendous potential to define and assume a unique position in the global marketplace with a renewed vision and energy.

“Fashion today needs new operating systems fuelled by new ideas and ingenuity – I look forward to crafting a model at Lanvin that delivers exceptional products and experiences to customers and exceptional business results to shareholders in equal measure.”
