Lacoste re-enters Scotland with bigger and better outlet store

French sportswear brand Lacoste has reopened the doors to its only standalone store in Scotland, unveiling a newly refitted space at Livingston Designer Outlet.

The revamped store reflects Lacoste’s elevated retail strategy, which it ushered in along with its new Creative Design Director in 2023. Now spanning a larger footprint, the updated unit allows for a wider product offering and an enhanced customer experience, such as a catwalk-style installation at its centre.

The space was designed to merge Lacoste’s classic sporting heritage with a fresh visual identity. For example, the retailer has fitted the space with a reimagined Polo Wall, which showcases an expanded collection of its most iconic pieces.

The store also introduces extended womenswear, childrenswear, accessories and footwear ranges, alongside trend-driven pieces and seasonal exclusives.

Nicky Lovell, Head of Outlets and Retail Development at Global Mutual, said: "This significant investment from Lacoste reflects a growing trend among premium retailers to expand their physical presence with stores that deliver more products and better experiences.

"Lacoste’s new store is an exciting addition to Livingston Designer Outlet and aligns with our wider vision to elevate the retail offering and better serve our customers across multiple audiences."

Back in 2023, Lacoste said it was "completely rethinking" its model. Part of this was appointing Pelagia Kolotouros as its Creative Design Director just weeks after Louise Trotter stepped down from the role.

The designer started out at Theory in 1998 before joining Calvin Klein in 2003, where she was appointed Design Director of Menswear. In 2017, Kolostouros became the Global Creative Director of outerwear specialist The North Face.
