Kurt Geiger unveils Lily Donaldson as AW17 face
Premium footwear and accessories brand Kurt Geiger has unveiled its AW17 campaign starring British model Lily Donaldson shot by long-term collaborator Erik Torstensson in London.
The campaign is the vision of the brand's creative director Rebecca Farrar-Hockley and is focused on stand-out accessories and boots. "Dressing up is the new dressed down this season. Your accessories need to make a big impact and dare to stand out. This season the boot is really the ‘it’ item and is back making a big statement as the outfit transformer that will deliver whatever the weather, whatever the occasion," Farrar-Hockley said.
"We are also excited to introduce a number of new bags and accessories featuring the jewelled eagle head we launched earlier this year including playful furry versions that look as good by day as they do at night," she added.
To mark the launch of the campaign Kurt Geiger has launched a pre-order service for a selection of Farrar-Hockley's key items of the season including the new Ride ankle boot in a pristine white option with a high heel and pointed toe.
Also available to pre-order are Sparky, a kitten heel ankle boots adorned with pearls and gold buckles, Raven, a square toe cigarette heel and Strut, a patent boot with orange resin block heel which has been reissued due to popular demand.
Also back for AW17 is the Kensington handbag range, which has been expanded to encompass micro mini Kensingtons in bright pink and red, as well as leopard faux fur and an embellished midnight blue velvet with faux fur top handle.
The original Kensington has been reissued in a vibrant pillar box red leather accompanied by a distorted union jack silk scarf. While the "ultimate" Kensington comes in an XXL buttersoft grey leather with enlarged silver eagle head and chain.
The eagle head motif has become a signature of the brand and can be found on bags and jewellery and as an adornment on footwear, such as the Soar high heeled platform. Another key embellishment are pearls, which are featured on footwear, including slides and sneakers, handbags and jewellery.
Kurt Geiger is also backing over-the-knee boots as a key trend and has some striking styles on offer including the Vita in electric blue, the Vallence in leopard or the Violet which comes in an all-over glitter, slouch grey or black suede.
