Kurt Geiger is to open nine brand new stores across the country as lockdown restrictions on non-essential retail lift in England next week.

The premium footwear retailer will open two sites in London (in Stratford and Brixton), two in Leeds as well as sites in Cheshire Oaks, Swindon, Bridgend, Selby, Cannock.

Some 50 new jobs will be created as a result of the move with the retailer hoping to re-employ some staff who lost their jobs as a result of concessions in former Debenhams stores being forced to close.

The retailer is also planning to reopen all existing stores in England from 12 April.

CEO Neil Clifford said: “I am so happy to be opening our stores again and especially pleased to be opening these new stores.”

“At Kurt Geiger, we continue to believe passionately in the high street, and continuing to protect our employees’ jobs as much as possible is a priority for us.
