Premium footwear and accessories brand, Kurt Geiger reported sales in the 24 shops that opened on June 15 were up 50% year-on-year.

Yesterday, Kurt Geiger opened 24 out of its 57 stores, with its Westfield Shepherd’s Bush and Covent Garden stores making over 50% more sales compared to the same day in 2015.

The retailer chose to start its phased reopening with some of its smaller stores that have high levels of click-and-collect pick-ups and its’ outlet stores, which have more accessible facilities and parking

Last week, the brand announced it will be donating the first month of all of its store profits to NHS Charities Together.

Although, CEO Neil Clifford described the first day trading as "encouraging", especially in the two flagship stores and also added that Monday was the very beginning and “consistency on a day by day basis” is what he hopes for.
