Taking to LinkedIn, Marsh announced the news, writing: "After an amazing rollercoaster journey over the past five years this week marks my last at Klarna.

"It has been a genuine pleasure working within and alongside such passionate, innovative and dynamic teams - and I wish you all the very best as Klarna will no doubt continue to trailblaze in the world of payments, shopping and banking."

He notes that during this time at the company, the UK team grew its consumer base from 1.5 million to an impressive 18 million customers.

However, Marsh added that a recent family tragedy has "brought home that life is short…this experience has underlined the importance of prioritising what matters most – our family and loved ones."
