Klarna expands Creator Platform to the UK

Payments provider and shopping service Klarna has today expanded its Creator Platform to the UK as well as the company’s 44 further regions.

The Creator Platform seamlessly matches retailers with the appropriate influencers and tracks performance metrics. This enables retailers to maximise engagement with their target audiences and achieve higher returns on influencer partnerships.

Simultaneously, the platform aims to help influencers increase their earning potential and provide more relevant product recommendations to their followers.

Initially launched in the US in October, the Creator Platform sees Klarna join the £13.3 billion ($16 billion) influencer marketing economy and opens up a new channel for its 450,000 retail partners. In addition, it expands the company’s strong affiliate marketing business, which already generates 600 million leads a year for retail partners globally.

The platform recognises that creators are now at the heart of online shopping, helping consumers discover brands and products. 41% of British shoppers who buy from social media already shop directly from influencer’s pages. This is even higher among Gen Z shoppers, which stands at 55%.

Martin Landen, Founder of APPRL and Head of Social Shopping at Klarna, commented: “Every minute creators spend on cumbersome admin is valuable time lost that could have been spent on creating engaging content.

“By providing access to affiliate partnerships, brand campaigns, and gifting activations with the world’s leading brands, Klarna empowers creators to monetise their influence at scale and turn their attention to producing quality content. At the same time, Klarna helps retailers take the guesswork out of influencer collaborations by identifying which talents t their brand and which channels drive the best results.”
