Kering confirms Francesca Bellettini as new Gucci CEO

Kering has announced the appointment of Francesca Bellettini as the new President and CEO of Gucci, replacing Stefano Cantino, who steps down after less than a year in the role. 

As part of this leadership change, Bellettini's current role as Kering's Deputy CEO will be eliminated. She will report directly to Luca de Meo, the newly appointed Chief Executive Officer of Kering.

Commenting on the appointment, de Meo said: "At this pivotal moment, I intend to build a leaner and clearer organisation in which the best talent drive our Houses forward.

"Gucci, as the flagship of our group, deserves the sharpest focus, and Francesca - one of the most seasoned and respected professionals in our industry - will bring the leadership and flawless execution needed to restore the brand to its rightful place."

Bellettini brings a strong track record and deep experience within the luxury sector. She began her career in London investment banking before moving into fashion, first with Prada, then as Operations Manager at Helmut Lang.

She joined Kering in 2003 as Strategic Planning Director and Associate Worldwide Merchandising Director of Gucci. In 2008, she moved to Bottega Veneta, becoming Worldwide Merchandising and Communications Director in 2010.

In 2013, Bellettini was appointed President and CEO of Saint Laurent, a role in which she delivered strong performance and brand momentum. Most recently, in September 2023, she was named Kering Deputy CEO in charge of brand development.

Her appointment to lead Gucci signals Kering’s strategic intent to refocus and strengthen its flagship brand under seasoned leadership.
