K-Way heads to Carnaby Street for new London store
French outerwear brand K-Way, best known for its pack away rain jackets, is opening a new 1,400 sq ft flagship store at 26-27 Carnaby Street.
It will mark the second store for the brand in the capital, following a combined K-Way, Sebago and Superga store opening by parent Italian company BasicNet on the King’s Road in February 2025, in what was K-Way’s 60th anniversary year.
The new store is believed to be opening this spring, showcasing K-Way’s extensive selection of outerwear across menswear, womenswear, childrenswear, and accessories.
The flagship will also incorporate unique products and act as a hub for events, building on K-Way’s experience in successful brand collaborations - which have already included the likes of Fendi, Comme des Garçons, Universal Works and Palace.
Dr. Martens owner Permira acquired a 40% stake in K-Way from BasicNet in early 2025, though the seeds of the ‘cagoule’ brand’s UK growth – and retail plans - were already in firmly place.
Lorenzo Boglione, CEO of K-Way, said: “Our goal for K-Way is to pursue a path of structured growth and consolidation across Europe’s key markets. The opening on Carnaby Street represents a pivotal step in this strategy: an iconic location with strong cultural and creative relevance, that offers international visibility and direct engagement with a highly engaged community.”
William Oliver, Director of Retail & Restaurant Leasing at London landlord Shaftesbury Capital, added: “As one of London’s busiest shopping destinations, Carnaby Street is so often at the forefront of brands’ ‘must-have’ locations, and K-Way is no exception.
“We are focused on partnering with ambitious brands that elevate our customer mix and stand out in the West End, and the inclusion of K-Way is evidence of that approach. Its track record of partnership, collaboration with other quality brands and how it’s delivered, has created a real sense of excitement about what they can bring to Carnaby Street, and how our visitors will respond to it.”
Pre-Covid, K-Way had trialled a London store on Henrietta Street in London’s Covent Garden, but both Brexit and the pandemic put paid to that, as well as the location becoming more of a restaurant street – not the branded menswear store destination that had originally been intended.
The announcement of the new K-Way store follows the news that US fashion brand Edikted has signed for its European standalone debut at 52-55 Carnaby Street. The 4,800 sq ft flagship store will stock an extensive selection of women’s apparel and accessories inspired by streetwear, trending looks and runway attire.
