Superdry founder is already at odds with the ally who put him back in charge.
Julian Dunkerton stood in a plush City office wearing a black T-shirt, skinny jeans and suede boots. One boot was blue, the other, black. Chuckling, Dunkerton admitted that he’d got dressed in the dark.
Superdry’s co-founder could afford to laugh on that early April morning. He had just learnt that 51.2% of shareholders had voted in favour of his return to the business — a slim but decisive majority that catapulted him back into the hot seat at the fashion brand, which had lost its way badly since his departure the previous year.
