Jules B goes into administration but saved after quick-fire sale
North East-based independent retailer Jules B has reportedly gone into administration but continues to trade online and at its men’s and women’s store at 91–93 Osborne Road in Jesmond, Newcastle, following its sale as a going concern.
That’s according to local North East newspaper ChronicleLive, which yesterday reported that Steven Ross and Allan Kelly of FRP Advisory were appointed as joint administrators to Jules B Limited last week, and immediately completed the sale of the business and its assets - saving the jobs of about 25 employees.
Jules B only re-opened last week following forced closure due to a ‘ram raid’ in the early hours of 10 February, which saw the store “severely damaged” and in need of repair.
It was the latest setback to hit the retailer following the forced closure of its two stores in Kendal, Cumbria, in November 2025, as it cited a “challenging economic climate and the sharp rise in in operating and labour costs”. Both the men’s and women’s stores had been established in the market town for over two decades.
Prior to that, in March 2024, Jules B announced it had completed a Company Voluntary Arrangement (CVA) following a “major cyber attack” in September 2023, which severely rocked the business.
Newcastle law firm Mincoffs Solicitors LLP assisted the administrators with the transaction. It is, as yet, unknown who the new owner of Jules B is. FRP Advisory has been contacted for comment.
