British fashion and lifestyle brand Joules has reported strong sales in the seven-week period to 8 January, with total retail sales up 22.8% on the comparable period in last year.
Retail gross margin rate is expected to be marginally ahead of the prior year, which the company said reflected its continued strong growth across both retail stores and ecommerce.
CEO Colin Porter said: “This strong outcome over the important Christmas trading period reflects the growing awareness and strength of the Joules brand.
“The success of our disciplined, multi‐channel, sales strategy across this important trading period is made possible by the dedica on and commitment of our team.”
Joules, which was floated on AIM in May last year, will post its interim results for the 26-week period ending 27 November 2016 on 31 January.
Joules was founded 25 years ago when Tom Joule began selling clothes at various outdoor events around the UK. Today, as well as more than 100 stores across the UK and Ireland, it is found in multi-brand retailers such as John Lewis and Next Label. It also has wholesale accounts and dedicated websites for the US and German markets.
