Jonathan Anderson's first Dior looks revealed in campaign fronted by Mbappé

As anticipation builds for Dior’s Summer 2026 menswear show later this week, the house has offered a first glimpse of Jonathan Anderson’s debut collection, fronted by none other than global football icon and Dior ambassador Kylian Mbappé.

The two short teaser videos, released today across Dior’s digital platforms, mark the first official looks by Anderson since his landmark appointment as the eighth couturier of Christian Dior. The playful clips feature Mbappé dressed in a selection of pre-show pieces, previewing the new creative direction under Anderson’s helm.

Jonathan Anderson, Creative Director at Dior, said: "Kylian Mbappé is the voice of a generation and an inspiration to many people in the world of sport and beyond. These films show the charm and charisma that make him the perfect ambassador for this House."

The videos are more than a promotional tease, they symbolise the dawn of a new era for the French fashion house.

Earlier this month, Anderson was appointed as Creative Director of all Dior collections including women’s, men’s and haute couture.

His appointment followed the departures of Kim Jones and Maria Grazia Chiuri, and comes amid Dior's push to refresh its aesthetic and commercial direction following a dip in revenues from €9.5 billion (£8 billion) in 2023 to €8.7 billion (£7.3 billion) in 2024.

Anderson’s arrival at Dior signals a strategic and creative reset. Known for his artistic subversion and craftsmanship, he brings a new point of view to the heritage house - one expected to appeal to fashion-literate Gen Z and millennial consumers globally.

The teaser looks worn by Mbappé suggest Anderson is leaning into a more conceptual yet wearable language for Dior menswear. Clean lines, fluid tailoring and subtle offbeat touches point toward a collection that balances heritage with innovation - an approach he mastered during his 11-year tenure at Loewe, which ended in March after driving the brand to record profits.

The Dior Summer 2026 menswear show will take place on Friday 27 June. It marks Anderson’s first full presentation under the Dior banner, ahead of his womenswear debut this September and haute couture in January 2026.
