John Lewis strengthens leadership team with new Boss of digital and omnichannel
John Lewis has appointed Dom McBrien as its new Chief Digital & Omnichannel Officer, effective as of 1 October, strengthening its leadership team as it presses on with its transformation strategy.
McBrien will report to John Lewis Managing Director, Peter Ruis, and will sit on the John Lewis management board.
He brings over 20 years of digital transformation experience, most recently as CEO for Body&Fit and Global President for Direct To Consumer at Glanbia Performance Nutrition, where he has spent almost seven years.
Prior to that, McBrien was Multichannel Director at The White Company for five years, where he was voted UK Digital Master of the Year in 2016.
He joined The White Company from M&S where he was Multichannel Trading Director for two years, responsible for M&S.com, which he drove to double-digit year-on-year growth to £800m, managing a team of over 300.
Other previous roles include Director of Multichannel at New Look (May 2009 to November 2011) and Director of E-Commerce at Arcadia Group for almost three years prior to that. He led a team in accelerating Arcadia e-commerce sales from early stages, including international dispatch and launch of US sites for Topshop and Topman.
On the new appointment, Peter Ruis said: "I’m delighted to appoint Dom as our Chief Digital & Omnichannel Officer. His extensive experience and proven track record in digital transformation will be invaluable as we continue to strengthen our digital leadership and deliver on our significant omnichannel ambitions."
McBrien added: "I am thrilled to be joining John Lewis at such a pivotal time in its transformation journey. The opportunity to contribute to a brand with such a rich heritage and a clear ambition to be the UK's most trusted omnichannel retailer is truly exciting. I’m looking forward to getting started."
