John Lewis joins forces with Rejina Pyo for exclusive summer collection

John Lewis is once again partnering with London-based Korean fashion designer Rejina Pyo for an exclusive 29-piece summer collection that references the understated, relaxed, but strong femininity of the 1990s.

The collection features fluid silhouettes, including slip dresses and casual denim, while remaining an authentic blend of the Rejina Pyo and John Lewis aesthetics. It takes its cue from the "off-duty style of 90s icons like Julia Roberts", particularly the way she paired sharp tailoring with simple separates.

This mix-and-match of different silhouettes remains at the heart of the range, offering versatility to customers so that they can explore the collection and integrate it with the John Lewis curated premium portfolio.

The campaign imagery was shot by Peter Lindbergh and serves as a defining reference for the collection, capturing the playful but timeless energy of the collection.

A blouse from the Autumn collaboration has been reimagined with a fitted shape that cinches at the waist for a sleeker spring look, while soft tailoring in a fresh lime shade offers a modern update. Pyo's signature details also appear throughout, including oversized collars and contrast topstitching.

Across accessories, the previously introduced rectangle bag is updated in a fresh cornflower blue, and a new hobo shape is introduced in premium suede and baby blue leather, with a 90s staple - the barely-there strappy kitten heels - completing the look.

Designer Rejina Pyo said: "For this second collection with John Lewis the 1990s became a reference point, not in a literal way, but in its attitude: a quiet strength, a simplicity in how pieces are worn and lived in. I wanted to explore a sense of ease and natural confidence, something that feels instinctive rather than overworked."

Rachel Morgans, Fashion Director at John Lewis , added: "We love collaborating with Rejina and her team, blending our creative styles and passion for quality to create something new and exciting for our audiences.

"My stand out this season is the tailoring, it will last in your wardrobe season after season and you can wear it in multiple ways. It’s the perfect way to add colour to your wardrobe without sacrificing sophistication."

The news follows the appointment of Jacqui Markham as Fashion Creative Director at John Lewis, succeeding Queralt Ferrer, who steps down after four years.

Her appointment forms part of the next phase in the development of John Lewis’ own-brand fashion, with a continued emphasis on strengthening creative direction and investing in product and customer experience.
