Joe Browns poised to open first bricks and mortar store

Mail order and online fashion brand Joe Browns is set to open its first bricks and mortar store at Sheffield Meadowhall next week and is promising to "bring a point of difference to the UK High Street".

Designed by Daziel & Pow, the 4,000sq ft store's opening co-incides with Meadowhall's £60m refurbishment project, which is due for completion in November.

Joe Browns managing director and founder Simon Brown said it was the right time for the business to move into physical retail in spite of tough market conditions.

"Despite online retail booming and many high streets unfortunately struggling, the time is right for us now to take this new opportunity. We believe the brand will bring a point of difference to the UK High Street for free-thinking, spontaneous individuals who want their fashion choices to match their lust for life.

“We’re very much looking forward to capturing the essence of our fun and liberating lifestyle brand and bringing it to life in our first shop," Brown said.

Earlier this year Joe Browns reported a rise of more than 30% in direct sales over the financial year to 30 June.
